How to Play Pucket
Pucket is a real-time dexterity game with no turns and no downtime. Speed, accuracy, and control decide the winner.
Setup
Place the board between two players.
Each player starts with eight wooden pucks on their side.
Adjust elastic tension using the wooden pegs if desired.
Shout “GO” to start.
Objective
Clear all pucks from your side of the board by catapulting them through the central gate into your opponent's side. Any puck that returns to your side must be sent back before you can win.
Basic Rules
There are no turns — both players play simultaneously.
Pucks must be fired using the elastic only.
Pushing pucks forward with the hand is not allowed.
Pucks may be moved sideways to clear space.
If a puck flies off the board, the player who fired it must retrieve it.
Shouting, jeering, and friendly intimidation are allowed.
A standard game lasts 2–5 minutes, but rematches are common.
Techniques & In-Game Moments
Mastering Pucket means more than speed. These techniques and situations define advanced play.

The Harpist
One hand pulls back the elastic while the other places a puck in front of it. The puck must be released before the elastic. When pucks pile up on the wrong side, a sweeping arm movement — known as the Typewriter — clears space quickly.

The Garner
A puck is dragged back against the elastic and released alternately with each hand. This technique produces the highest firing rate, though accuracy is harder to maintain.

Amélie's Raspberries
An advanced version of the Harpist. Multiple fingers are pre-loaded with pucks, allowing rapid reloading after each shot. Difficult to master but extremely effective once learned.
Cardinal's Revenge
A perfectly aimed puck rebounds off the opposite elastic and comes back through the gate. A player cannot win on a cardinal — the final puck must pass through the gate and remain on the opponent's side.
Gatekeeper's Dinner
A poorly aimed puck becomes stuck in the gate. Knocking it through with another puck often causes a chain reaction of stuck pucks — an ongoing “feeding session”.
Neptune's Kiss
Both players fire at the same time, causing pucks to collide at the gate and rebound. Speed matters — hesitate and the next kiss may follow.
Flying Sailor
A puck flies over the gate and off the board. The player who fired it must retrieve it immediately. Forgetting to do so is best pointed out at the most inconvenient moment.
Why It Works
Pucket combines:
Zero turn-taking
Physical skill over luck
Short, repeatable games
Real-time pressure
The result is frantic, noisy, and highly addictive gameplay that appeals equally to children, adults, and competitive players.
Warning: Players may become fiercely competitive.
